Prayer for Government and Political Leaders

Heavenly Father,

Lord of all nations and King above every earthly authority,

I lift up government officials and political leaders across our country and around the world.

Give them wisdom that comes from You,

Guide their decisions to lead with integrity rather than selfish ambition.

Strengthen leaders who desire to do what is right.

Give them courage to stand for truth,

humility to admit when they are wrong,

and compassion for the people they serve.

Guard their minds from corruption,

their hearts from pride,

and their leadership from deceit.

Bring unity of righteousness where there is division,

clarity of truth where there is confusion,

and righteousness where there is compromise.

Surround them with wise counselors,

and remove influences that lead to harm or injustice.

I pray for their families,

that You would protect them and give them peace.

I pray for weary leaders,

that You would renew their strength.

And I pray for unbelieving leaders,

that they would encounter Your truth and be transformed by Your love.

Let Your will be done in our governments

as You guide history according to Your purposes.

May every leader be reminded that authority is a stewardship

and that true power belongs to You alone.

Bless their leadership, shape their character,

and use them as instruments of peace, and righteousness.
